The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship is a unique leadership development program designed to enrich and transform cultural practice by enhancing leadership potential, skills, and acumen. This fellowship brings together some of the most creative and dynamic cultural leaders from the UK and around the world for an immersive personal and professional learning experience.

The fellowship runs from September 2024 to May 2025 and offers a flexible framework tailored to boost the development of exceptional cultural leaders at a pivotal point in their careers. It is a self-guided, experiential program grounded in practice and informed by contemporary leadership theories.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship:
Country of Origin: Applicants must be from one of the following countries:

- Brazil
- China
- Egypt
- India
- Jordan
- Lebanon
- Mexico
- South Africa
Intention to Return: Applicants must intend to return to their home country after the fellowship.
Educational Background: Hold a degree equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honors degree or possess equivalent professional training and/or experience.
Work Experience: Have at least five years of work experience, or its equivalent, by the end of 2023.
English Proficiency: Have a good working knowledge of English, assessed through the application form and interview process.
Citizenship: Applicants must not hold British or dual British citizenship.
Employment Status: Applicants should not be employees, former employees, or relatives of employees of His Majesty’s Government, the British Council, a sponsoring UK university, or the Association of Commonwealth Universities. This includes organizations like the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, British Embassies/High Commissions, and others, within the last two years from the opening of Chevening applications.
Fellowship Benefits
The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship provides the following benefits:
- Travel: Up to two return economy flights from your home country to the UK for fellowship activities.
- Accommodation: Housing while in the UK.
- Living Expenses: A stipend to cover living costs during your time in the UK.
- Secondment: A 4-6 week placement at a cultural institution in the UK.
- Learning Plan: An individually tailored fellowship learning plan, which may include participation in courses, conferences, and other professional development activities in the UK.
- Training Costs: Coverage of course and conference fees, as well as training and development costs within the UK.
- UK Travel: Support for travel within the UK for fellowship-related activities.
Programme Structure
The fellowship program is structured around two main periods of residency in the UK:
- September 2025: The fellowship begins with a residential leadership course in the UK, where fellows meet each other and begin their learning journey.
- January 2026 – May 2026: Fellows return to the UK to engage in their individual training and development programs, which include:
- Workshops: Three day-long, non-residential skills-based workshops.
- Online Climate Assembly: A one-day online event focused on climate leadership.
- 360° Leadership Profile: An in-depth leadership assessment.
- Secondment: A placement in a UK cultural organization, working on a live project set by the host.
- Bespoke Learning Opportunities: Participation in conferences, courses, study visits, and peer/sector networking.
- Mentorship: Focused support from a mentor or coach.
- Thought Leadership: Development of a written provocation paper exploring a key leadership issue.
- Final Residential Course: The fellowship concludes with a final residential leadership course in May 2026.
