Scholarship Benefits

The Beijing Government Scholarship offers financial assistance based on the level of study:

  • Doctoral Degree: 40,000 RMB/year
  • Master’s Degree: 30,000 RMB/year
  • Bachelor’s Degree: 20,000 RMB/year
  • Senior Training or Long-term Language Program: 10,000 RMB/year
  • Exchange Students or Students with Outstanding Contributions: 5,000 RMB/year

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Beijing Government Scholarships 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Nationality and Health Status
    • Must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
  2. Educational Background and Age Limits
    • Undergraduate Applicants: Completed high school and are under 30 years old.
    • Master’s Applicants: Hold a Bachelor’s degree and are under 35 years old.
    • Doctoral Applicants: Possess a Master’s degree and are under 40 years old.
    • Advanced Studies Applicants: Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree or be in their second year of university and be under 50 years old.
    • Language Study Applicants: Must have a high school diploma and be under 60 years old.
    • Visiting Scholars: Must have at least a Master’s degree or an associate professorship and be under 50 years old.
  3. Language Proficiency
    • Proficiency requirements depend on the academic program and the institution’s specific standards.

Exclusion Criteria

Applicants receiving financial aid from other Chinese government scholarships or organizations are not eligible.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:

  1. Application Form for Beijing Government Scholarship – Obtainable from the targeted HEIs’ websites.
  2. Notarized Diplomas and Transcripts – Highest level of education certificates and records.
  3. Foreigner Physical Examination Form – Required for study programs exceeding six months.
  4. Study or Research Plan:
    • Degree or Research Students: Submit a study plan (minimum 400 words) or research proposal (minimum 800 words) in English or Chinese.
  5. Art/Music Applicants: Submit original works as required by the chosen HEI.
  6. Applicants Under 18: Provide legal guardian documents in China.

Guidelines for Application

Step 1:

  • Visit the website of your target university in Beijing.
  • Complete the application form and submit it along with the required documents.

Step 2:

  • Apply for admission to the university offering the scholarship.

Step 3:

  • Universities assess applications and forward their decisions to the scholarship hosts.

Step 4:

  • Successful candidates will receive the Scholarship Admission Notice, Admission Notice, and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) three months before the program begins.

Important Notice

  • Incomplete applications or those failing to meet eligibility criteria will be rejected.
  • Scholarship recipients will undergo a yearly review to assess their performance and ensure eligibility for renewal.
