Suspected bandits launched an attack on the Yar Nasarawa community in the Faskari local government area of Katsina State, resulting in the tragic death of six individuals, including a traditional ruler.
The bandits attacked by burning houses, and vehicles, and abducting approximately 38 residents of the area.

According to a credible source and resident of the affected area, around 10 people sustained injuries of varying degrees. The attackers, numbering significantly, also set fire to eight commercial vehicles, six houses, and shops in the community, located within five kilometers of the Army Super Camp in Faskari local government area.
Witnesses reported that the terrorists, well-prepared for the assault, targeted the community around 11 pm and strategically blocked all entry and exit points to prevent intervention from the military and local security forces. The attackers abducted 38 residents, including women and children, leaving 10 with gunshot injuries.
Auwal Liman, an eyewitness who narrowly escaped the attack, described the assailants shooting indiscriminately while setting vehicles and buildings on fire.
He expressed the dire situation faced by the community, emphasizing the difficulty of going to farms and local markets due to the persistent threat of terrorist attacks.
While confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, Abubakar-Sadik Aliyu, stated that the Commissioner of Police had deployed tactical, operational, and intelligence personnel to the scene.
The security forces are actively combing the surrounding bushes to apprehend the perpetrators for diligent prosecution. Yar Nasarawa is situated less than five kilometers from the Army Super Camp established by former Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai, in 2018.
