In its ongoing dedication to bolstering cultural and creative industries in developing nations, UNESCO has commenced accepting applications for the 2024 UNESCO International Fund.

This marks the fifteenth call for applications to the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) by UNESCO.

Projects will be chosen through an open and competitive process, with selection based on their potential to yield tangible and enduring outcomes in advancing the creative sectors of developing countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention.

Since its inception in 2010, the IFCD has allocated over US$ 11.5 million across 152 projects in 71 developing countries.

Public institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from eligible nations are encouraged to submit their proposals, along with international NGOs registered in countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention.

Eligible projects for the IFCD are those that drive structural change by:

1. Introducing and/or refining policies and measures directly impacting the creation, production, distribution, and access to a variety of cultural expressions, encompassing cultural goods, services, and activities.
2. Strengthening human and institutional capacities of public sector and civil society organizations, deemed essential to bolster viable local and regional cultural industries and markets in developing countries.

Applicants eligible to apply include:

1. Public authorities and institutions from eligible countries (developing countries, Parties to the 2005 Convention).
2. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from eligible countries (developing countries, Parties to the 2005 Convention).
3. International non-governmental organizations (INGOs) registered in countries Parties to the 2005 Convention.
