Recognizing the influential role of tertiary students in shaping the future, this program targets their mindset, commitment, and actions toward impactful sustainable development. It aims to equip them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and dedication to champion the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) effectively.
The program’s overarching goal is to nurture 10 million socially responsible leaders by 2030, empowering them to spearhead sustainable development initiatives.
It seeks to enhance SDG awareness and comprehension across 5000+ tertiary institutions in Africa, encouraging active engagement in community projects aligned with specific SDGs while fostering a sense of social impact and responsibility.
By instilling a profound understanding of the SDGs and cultivating leadership skills, the program endeavors to initiate enduring change and raise awareness of the SDGs within students’ communities and institutions.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Currently enrolled in tertiary institutions (universities, colleges, or polytechnics).
2. Aged between 16 and 25, with proficient English language skills as the program will be conducted in English.
3. Welcoming students from diverse academic disciplines and majors.
4. Geographic diversity encompassing students from various African countries, including urban and rural representation.
5. Demonstrated interest in and commitment to the SDGs.
6. Willingness to take on responsibilities, leadership potential, and active participation in the program.
7. Encouragement for participation from students with disabilities to promote inclusivity.
8. Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to making a positive impact within their institutions.

Note: The program will be conducted in English, and applicants must have proficiency in the language. Applications not submitted in English will be disqualified. Selected participants will commence the 10-week leadership program on May 1, 2024.
The application deadline for the 2024 Cohort 1 of the SDGs Campus Ambassador Program is April 30, 2024, at 10:00 PM (GMT+1). Applicants are encouraged to complete and submit the form before the deadline.
