Theme – 2024 Edition

“Sustainable Climate Action for Human-Centered Development”

This edition of the awards will encompass two distinct categories:

1. The Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD) – 2024 Edition:

This competitive research grant program aims to identify and finance exceptional research proposals with the potential for significant contributions to the field. These projects should exhibit excellence in research methodology and offer clear policy implications for addressing development challenges in low and middle-income countries, as per the World Bank’s classification.

2. The Japanese Award for Most Innovative Development Project (MIDP) – 2024 Edition:

This competitive grant initiative is designed to support non-profit Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) operating in low or lower-middle-income countries, as defined by the World Bank. The focus is to acknowledge and provide resources for the innovative approaches adopted by these organizations in their developmental projects.
