Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024/2025 Generation Google EMEA Scholarships designed for women in computer science and gaming.
The Generation Google Scholarship: for women in computer science aims to support students pursuing computer science degrees and empower them to excel in technology, ultimately becoming leaders in the field.

Successful candidates will be awarded a 7,000 EUR grant (or local equivalent) for the 2024-2025 academic year. Scholarships will be granted based on the applicant’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrated leadership skills, and academic performance. The program is open to students who meet the minimum eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
– Be currently enrolled as full-time students in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university or college for the 2023-2024 academic year.
– Intend to enroll or have been accepted as full-time students in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa for the 2024-2025 academic year.
– Be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.
– Demonstrate a strong academic record.
– Exhibit leadership qualities and a passion for enhancing the representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.
Application Procedure
Applicants will need to complete an online application, which includes:
– General background information (such as contact details and details about current and intended universities).
– Resume/CV.
– Academic transcripts from the current institution.
– Responses to short answer essay questions.
Essay Questions
The two short answer essay questions aim to evaluate problem-solving abilities and dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Each response should be no more than 500 words and address the following:
1. Describe a time when you encountered a complex problem without a clear solution path. Explain the steps you took to resolve, including the resources and solutions considered, and the lessons learned from the experience.
2. Based on personal experience, discuss a barrier hindering equitable access to the technology field. Identify the root cause and describe actions taken to address this inequity, focusing on your contributions.
Before starting the application process, ensure you have the following documents ready for upload:
– PDF copy of your resume (including leadership positions, extracurricular activities, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts).
– PDF copy of your current or most recent transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
