The African Development Bank Internship Program 2024 revolves around providing financial and technical support for transformative projects that aim to significantly reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth. To sharpen the focus of the Ten-Year Strategy (2023 – 2032) and enhance its developmental impact, five key areas have been pinpointed for expansion, all of which are intended to expedite the Bank’s contributions to Africa. These areas include energy, agro-business, industrialization, integration, and improving the quality of life for Africa’s people.

The African Development Bank Internship Program 2024 is a component of a broader Talent Management Framework designed to facilitate the Bank’s alignment with the Ten-Year Strategy and the High 5s. The primary objectives of the African Development Bank Internship Program 2024 are as follows:

  • Offer students an opportunity to gain professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
  • Create a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes by the Bank.

However, it’s essential to note that African Development Bank Internship Program 2024 applicants should not anticipate immediate employment with the Bank as a guaranteed outcome.

Eligibility

To qualify for an internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have reached the age of majority in their country of nationality or origin and be under the age of thirty (30) at the outset of the internship program.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a master’s level degree program at a recognized public or private institution of higher education.
  • Candidates can apply for an internship within one (1) year of obtaining such a degree.
  • Must be nationals of the Member Countries of the African Development Bank.
  • Need to provide a letter from their school confirming their enrollment or a copy of the aforementioned degree.
  • Applicants must also be fluent in at least one of the Bank’s two working languages (English or French).
  • Must possess proficiency in using the Bank’s standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
