Selection for the African Development Bank Internship is competitive and based on the organization’s business needs.
Requirements for the AfDB Internship:
Applicants must:
- Be of legal age in their country of nationality or origin and not more than thirty (30) years old at the start of the internship.
- Be a national of one of the AfDB member countries.
- Currently, be enrolled in a master’s level degree program at a recognized public or private educational institution.
- Apply for the internship within one (1) year of obtaining their degree.
- Provide documentation confirming enrollment or a copy of their degree.
- Possess fluency in at least one of the Bank’s working languages (English or French).
- Demonstrate proficiency in standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); familiarity with SAP is desirable.
Duration and Benefits of AfDB Internship:
- Interns receive medical insurance coverage provided by the Bank during the internship period.
- Eligible interns receive a monthly stipend.
- Internships are granted for a period of three (3) to six (6) months, authorized only once per candidate.
- Interns may work remotely or on-site, depending on the needs of their hiring units.
- Selected interns are responsible for their air travel to and from the Bank’s location for on-site internships.
- The Bank assists interns in obtaining entry and residence visas as needed.
