It appears that the FG has scheduled meetings with the leadership of organized labor, set to take place at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Representatives from the government on the tripartite committee for the new minimum wage are expected to attend.

According to This Day, a letter dated April 24 and signed by the permanent secretary to the SGF confirmed the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and reach an agreement on the government’s position regarding the new minimum wage, which will then be presented at the next meeting of the tripartite committee.
Both the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have submitted separate proposals for the new minimum wage, citing economic realities.
While the NLC proposed N794,000 as the minimum wage, the TUC proposed N447,000 per worker. However, they jointly submitted a proposal for N615,000 as the new minimum to reflect current economic challenges.
A reliable source within the SGF office disclosed that the federal government is considering an amount ranging from N150,000 to N200,000, which will be presented for further negotiation before the committee.
Additionally, workers in Taraba and Gombe states have demanded a new minimum of N60,000, while workers in the southwest are demanding a minimum of N794,000.
These demands are being presented to the presidential tripartite committee on the national minimum wage.
