This 12-week intensive training program offers school educators the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the SDGs through advanced workshops, lectures, readings, assessments, and practical projects.

Participants will delve into topics such as Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Climate Change, Environmental Sustainability, Green Economy, Circular Economy, Sustainable Waste Management, Project Management, and Technology and Innovation for Educators.

The primary goal of Teach4SDGs is to empower primary and secondary teachers with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to effectively integrate SDGs into their curriculum and educate students about sustainable development.

By equipping teachers with resources and supporting the integration of SDGs into the existing curriculum, the project aims to raise awareness and encourage action toward achieving the SDGs.

Teach4SDGs will be conducted in English, and applicants must have adequate proficiency in the language. The program will be held virtually using various learning and communication platforms, requiring participants to have a reliable internet connection.

Selected applicants will undergo a 12-week intensive training and activation program starting in May 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

– Open to Primary and Secondary School Teachers in Public and Private Schools across Sub-Saharan African countries.
– Ability to commit at least 4 hours on 2 days per week throughout the training program, conducted in English.
– Applicants must be between 20 – 45 years old.
– Availability to participate in virtual training and conduct SDGs Activation in their school.
– Interest in promoting student learning about the SDGs and being a development and transformation agent.
– No prior knowledge of the SDGs 2030 is necessary.
