In a statement signed by the university’s registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi, it was explained that the postponement became necessary due to the federal government’s declaration of Thursday as a public holiday for the Eid-el-Fitr festival.

Ajayi stated, “The federal government had initially declared Tuesday and Wednesday of this week as public holidays for the Muslim festival, but the extension of the festival by a day due to circumstances surrounding the Ramadan moon-sighting necessitated the adjustment.”

The investiture of the chancellor is now scheduled to take place on Saturday morning, coinciding with the day of the convocation.

He expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the postponement, attributing the situation to unforeseen circumstances.
