The Defence Headquarters has issued a call to the public for information regarding 97 individuals, including terrorists, insurgents, and others, involved in violent crimes across the country.
Major-General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed the identities and images of the individuals wanted, as announced on Friday.

It’s worth noting that back in November 2022, the military declared 19 leaders of banditry wanted, offering a bounty of N5 million on each of them, aiming to encourage citizens to provide information leading to their arrest.
However, this time, no rewards have been offered for the capture of the 97 wanted individuals, which also includes the leader of the separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The list of wanted persons includes individuals linked to terrorism in the North East and North West regions, as well as insurgents operating in the South-East and North Central areas.
In the North West region, where banditry is prevalent, a total of 43 individuals have been declared wanted. Some of the names on this list are Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, Boka, Dogo Gide, Halilu Sububu, Ado Aliero, Bello Turji, Dan Bokkolo, Labi Yadi, Nagala, Saidu Idris, Kachalla Rugga, and Sani Gurgu.
Similarly, 33 individuals have been declared wanted in the North East, where Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists operate. Notable names on this list include Abu Zaida, Modu Sulum, Baba Data, Ahmad, Sani Teacher, Baa Sadiq, Abdul Saad, Kaka Abi, Mohammad Khalifa, Umar Tella, Abu Mutahid, Mallam Mohammad, Mallam Tahiru Baga, Uzaiya, and Ali Ngule.
Additionally, 21 insurgents and violent criminals have been declared wanted in the South East and North Central regions. Some of the names on this list include Simon Ekpa, Chika Edoziem, Egede, Zuma, ThankGod, Gentle, Flavour, Mathew, David Ndubuisi, High Chief Williams Agbor, Ebuka Nwaka, Friday Ojimka, Obiemesi Chukwudi aka Dan Chuk, David Ezekwem Chidiebube, and Amobi Chinonso Okafor aka Temple, among others.
