The Gombe State Executive Council (SEC) celebrated the recent recognition of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as “Governor of the Year” by The Sun Newspaper, along with various awards received by the state’s Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Deputy Governor Dr. Manasah Daniel Jatau presented the awards to Governor Yahaya in a brief ceremony before the commencement of the SEC meeting at the Government House in Gombe.
The awarded categories include The Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year 2023, The Telegraph Newspaper Governor of the Year (Education), Best Supporting Governor on Hajj Operations, and Best State in E-governance and Geographic Information System in Nigeria.
Expressing his joy over the recognition, Governor Yahaya conveyed gratitude to his team for their support and collaboration in implementing transformative policies and programs that promote good governance and drive progress in Gombe State. He emphasized that the awards were a collective recognition of the administration’s efforts.
While urging the team to stay committed to the state’s progress, Governor Yahaya acknowledged the upcoming challenges and assured them of his unwavering commitment to delivering more for the people of Gombe State.
He also commented on the nation’s current economic challenges, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is aware of these issues and working collaboratively with governors on initiatives to alleviate hardships and enhance citizens’ quality of life.
