The Kwara Command of Customs has appointed a new Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Faith Mathew Ojeifo, following the retirement of Comptroller Kehinde Ilesanmi.
The announcement was made by the Command Spokesman, Chado Zakari, in a statement released on Wednesday. The change in leadership was deemed necessary due to Compt.

Ilesanmi’s retirement, and the approval for the deployment of Compt. FM Ojeifo was granted by the Comptroller General of Customs, CGC Bashir Wale Adeniyi MFR.
Compt. Ojeifo, who hails from Customs Headquarters, Abuja, officially assumed the leadership role at the Kwara Command during a brief Handover ceremony on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State.
During the ceremony, the outgoing Controller, Compt. Ilesanmi urged the officers and staff of the Command to extend their support and cooperation to his successor.
In his farewell address, he expressed gratitude to the Comptroller General of Customs and the management team for the opportunity to serve as Area Controller, seeking God’s guidance for a successful tenure.
Compt. FM Ojeifo, in response, conveyed his intention to build upon the achievements of his predecessor and emphasized the need for substantial support. He outlined key objectives, including surpassing the Command’s revenue target for 2024 and minimizing smuggling activities.
The new Custom Area Controller stressed the importance of transparency and professionalism among officers, warning against any negative conduct.
Compt. Ojeifo solicited cooperation from various stakeholders, including security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other relevant parties.
He urged them to collaborate with the Custom Service in sharing intelligence for combating smuggling activities and addressing trans-border crimes.
