The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has issued a warning to the public regarding a fraudulent online loan application circulating on social media platforms.
This information is contained in a press statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity and the official spokesperson to the Senate President, Hon Eseme Eyibo.

According to the statement, the advertisement for the loan did not originate from the Office of the Senate President but is the work of fraudsters and unscrupulous elements aiming to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians.
The fake offer, titled “N200,000 Palliative Loan By the Senate,” features a misleading image of Senator Akpabio alongside the coat of arms and the logo of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The fraudulent scheme, posted on Facebook under the account name Templeshort, falsely asks the public to apply and get instant loan approval.
The statement emphasizes that the Office of the President has nothing to do with Templeshort or its Facebook handle. It clarifies that he is not operating any loan program or palliative arrangement and is not working with the CBN or any other financial institution on any loan facility as a palliative.
The statement strongly advises the public to exercise caution and vigilance in the face of these criminal elements who use deceitful methods to target unsuspecting Nigerians. It urges the public to disregard such scams and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
