Nigerian global music sensation Tems has been included in the 2023 Times 100 Next List

In yet another significant achievement, this R&B sensation has secured a spot on the prestigious Times 100 Next list, which celebrates 100 young individuals worldwide who are achieving remarkable feats and shaping the future across various fields such as health, climate, business, sports, the arts, and more.

On the 2023 edition of this list, Tems shares the spotlight with American music producer Metro Booming and the emerging rap sensation Ice Spice.
Among the other noteworthy names featured on the list are Kali Uchis, Hailey Bieber, and Peso Pluma, among others. Tems has experienced remarkable success since her breakthrough onto the international scene, particularly after her outstanding contribution to Wizkid’s chart-topping hit “Essence.”
Tems achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Nigerian female singer to win a Grammy Award. She received the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her contributions to Future’s “Wait For U.” Additionally, she became the first Nigerian artist to debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Her accolades also include three BET awards and an Oscar nomination for her songwriting on Rihanna’s “Lift Me UP.”
As part of Tems’ inclusion in the list, American Grammy winner and Oscar nominee Mary J Blige penned a glowing tribute, describing the Nigerian singer as truly unique and original.
