Scholarship Benefits

Financial Support:

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Deakin University RTP Scholarship, applicants must:

1. Enrollment Status:
   • Be a domestic or international student enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at Deakin University.
2. Academic Qualifications:
   • Have completed at least four years of tertiary education.
   • Achieved 80% or equivalent in the research component of their previous degree.
   • Consideration for relevant work experience, research publications, and other research experience.
3. Scholarship & Income Restrictions:
   • Must not be receiving an equivalent award or Commonwealth scholarship to offset HDR fees.
   • Must not be receiving income greater than 75% of the RTP stipend rate from another source to cover living costs.
4. English Language Proficiency:

• • Must meet Deakin University’s English language requirements with valid IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent scores.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents online:

• CV (Curriculum Vitae).
• Academic Transcripts (certified copies of previous degrees).
• Valid English Test Results (IELTS, TOEFL, or evidence of English as the language of instruction).
• Bachelor’s, Honours, or Master’s Thesis/Dissertation.
• List of Publications (if applicable).
• Statement of Research Project/Problem/Question (proposal outlining research focus).

Guidelines for Application

The application process for the Deakin University RTP Scholarships 2025 involves several steps:

Step 1: Expression of Interest (EoI) Submission

Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) at least 4 weeks before the scholarship deadline.

Steps to complete the EoI form:

1. Contact a Potential Supervisor:
   • Find and email a relevant faculty supervisor at Deakin University.
2. Supervisor Approval:
   • The supervisor must agree to supervision and invite the applicant to submit an EoI.
3. Complete EoI Form (Sections 1-9):
   • The applicant fills out sections 1-9 and sends it to the supervisor.
4. Supervisor Completes EoI (Sections 10-13):
   • The supervisor finalizes the EoI form.
5. Supervisor Submits EoI:

• • The supervisor submits the final EoI form and supporting documents to the faculty’s designated email.

Step 2: Online Scholarship Application Submission

• Visit the official Deakin University Scholarship webpage.
• Fill out the HDR Scholarship application form.
• Upload all required documents.
• Submit before the scholarship deadline.

Step 3: Await Decision

• Successful applicants will receive an official offer via email from Deakin University.
