The federal government (FG) has announced a hike in the cost of acquiring Nigeria’s international passport.
According to a statement released by the Nigeria Immigration Service’s spokesperson, DCI Kenneth Udo, in Abuja, this adjustment is aimed at preserving the quality and credibility of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

The revised fees will be implemented starting from September 1, 2024. However, the statement clarified that there will be no changes in the fees for those applying from abroad.
Following the review, the price for a 32-page Passport booklet with a 5-year validity, previously set at Thirty-five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00), will now be Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00). Similarly, the 64-page Passport booklet with a 10-year validity, which was Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00), will now cost One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00).
The statement further expressed, “The Nigeria Immigration Service apologizes for any inconvenience this price increase may cause potential applicants and reassures Nigerians of its steadfast commitment to delivering transparent and high-quality services.”
