African Synthesis Centre for Climate Change, Environment and Development (ASCEND) 2024
This Request for Proposals invites potential team leaders to propose opportunities for a transdisciplinary team to use synthesis research methods to create actionable research aimed at reducing climate change risks in Africa.

Actionable research goes beyond identifying a problem; it focuses on finding solutions by asking “what can be done?” and guiding policy and practice.
The synthesis research should include data and knowledge specific to Africa, but it can also incorporate relevant data and knowledge from outside the continent, such as global climate finance flows or relevant case studies from other regions.
We are looking to select up to 6 teams that will meet multiple times at ASCEND in Cape Town and work over a period of 2 years. Each team will be supported by a full-time postdoctoral research fellow. Teams are expected to begin their projects in the last quarter of 2024.
